Job Summary : SUMMARY
This Maintenance Reliability Engineer is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of reliability improvement plans for assigned areas, focusing on learning and applying techniques to improve uptime and reliability to meet increased demand. This role works under direct supervision to build foundational skills in reliability engineering practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Implement risk management strategies to include predictive and preventive maintenance activities in mechanical and electrical systems (vibration analysis, lubrication analysis, motor circuit analysis, thermography, equipment laser alignment, etc.).
Analyze rotating equipment, electrical systems, and instrumentation systems for failures and provide solutions to eliminate or extend the time between failures.
Assist with breakdown analysis investigations, failure analysis, Fishbone analysis, and focused improvement activities under the direction of a Senior Engineer.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and focused improvement teams as a learning experience.
Work closely with maintenance mechanics and operators to improve techniques that adversely affect equipment or product quality.
Assist project engineers in reviewing specifications and designs to learn about standards that minimize life cycle costs and support high reliability.
Identify potential process bottlenecks and suggest continuous improvement ideas to senior staff.
Review and update existing Preventative Work Instructions under supervision to maximize the maintenance department's productively while minimizing wasted time and controlling cost.
Review engineering specifications and drawings, propose design modifications to improve reliability within cost and business requirements.

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
0-1 years of experience in a heavy industrial setting, internships or co-ops preferred.
Preference toward Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree, with a desire to learn maintenance & reliability best practices including preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance.

Working Conditions : Office, travel, and outdoors / indoors within a Process Plant and Mine environment. Approximately 50% of the work is administrative in nature
Physical Requirements : Computer, ability to make oral presentations, lifting objects up to 40 lbs., standing or sitting for extended periods, extended or irregular hours, bending, climbing, kneeling, stooping, walking on uneven terrain. Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment and working outdoors in temperature extremes
