Part-Time Transfer Attendant / Heavy Equipment Operator

Hood River Garbage , a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety focused Part-Time Transfer Attendant / Heavy Equipment Operator to join the team in Hood River, Oregon.

Starting wage is $34.98 / HR ( with an increase to $36.20 after 6-months of employment pending a positive performance review)

Schedule : Monday, Tuesday, & Friday

Shift : 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM

Safety Sensitive Position : Yes

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry of the transfer station.
• Safely and efficiently operate forklift, backhoe , and / or front-end loader .
• Measure trucks in and out and calculating payments for customers.
• Track measurement information in computer system.
• Ensuring that incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.
• Work on your feet outside throughout your shift.
• Assisting with office duties, filing and paperwork as needed.
• Ensure that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
