What you’ll do

As an Environmental Health and Safety Scientist , you will monitor and collect data for environmental projects, including air quality, hazardous materials, remediation and risk management. You’ll report to the Branch Manager to assist with regulatory functions and present your findings. You’ll also :

• Collect samples and maintain sampling equipment.
• Stay current on regulatory changes and requirements.
• Maintain environmental permits, licenses and related materials.
• Identify and evaluate risk of hazardous materials, including asbestos and lead-based paint.
• Oversee air quality and remediation projects, including microbial remediation.
• Train clients on themes in environmental safety, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations.
• Prepare reports, correspondence, regulatory forms and other documentation.
• Supervise drilling and excavation contractors.
• Conduct work involving non-conventional planning.
• Uphold Fehr Graham’s Core Values and mission.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What it takes

To succeed in this role, you should have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field and three or more years of experience in environmental science, site remediation or environmental health and safety. You should have strong analytical and organizational skills and be able to work independently and in a team environment. Here are other skills that will set you apart :
