This position is essential for treating patients according to physician orders and departmental policy. We offer competitive sign-on bonuses for eligible full-time positions : $7,500 for Direct Care Respiratory Therapists with one year of experience ($5,000 for less than one year) and licensed in South Carolina. Accountabilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program or eligible for licensure in South Carolina, or a senior student graduating in the next three months.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina, or eligible for licensure, or a senior student graduating in the next three months. BLS certification required. NBRC credentials must be current. Employees hired before June 2016 may hold Certified Respiratory Therapist status.
From June 2016 onward, employees must pass the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam and the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation; failure to do so will result in termination.
NRP and PALS certifications are required in the Children's Hospital before independent work in the NICU and PICU.
Other Required Skills and Experience
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, in addition to strong communication, computer, and organizational skills.
