Position Summary :
The Controller will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This role requires a hands-on, results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for building robust financial infrastructure to support scalable growth.
Pay Range : $120,000 - $140,000 per year (Exempt)
Location : Onsite - Huntington Beach, CA
Job Responsibilities :
Develop and execute long-term financial strategies that support the company's growth objectives, ensuring financial sustainability and operational scalability.Lead and manage all core accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, payroll, and tax reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.Produce and present accurate, timely, and insightful financial statements and dashboards to executive leadership to support data-driven decision-making.Coordinate the annual budgeting process, monthly forecasts, and strategic planning cycles, working cross-functionally with key departments to align financial goals with operational priorities.Design, implement, and continuously improve internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.Lead annual financial audits, maintain tax compliance, and serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.Evaluate and enhance financial systems, tools, and workflows to increase efficiency, transparency, and scalability as the company grows.Provide financial modeling, analysis, and due diligence support for strategic initiatives such as new store openings, partnerships, and capital investments.Mentor, and develop a strong accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and professional growth.Requirements and Qualifications :
Active CPA license preferred.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or Master's in Accounting is a plus).Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting / finance experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.Experience in the food & beverage, retail, or multi-unit business environment preferred.Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.Demonstrated ability to think strategically while remaining detail-oriented.Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills.Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Proficiency in ERP / accounting software (e.g.,SAGE Intact) is a plus.7 Leaves Cafe Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
