Retail Sales Associate
At Christmas In America, as a Retail Sales Associate you will be advising our customers and creating the holiday magic that we are known for! A retail sales associate is responsible for delivering the best customer experience that contributes to the stores sales and profit. As a retail sales associate, you will always put customers first, offer your assistance, and share your product and decor knowledge. You will create an environment that is welcoming, cheerful, and full of holiday spirit. By sharing knowledge and skills with colleagues, you will actively contribute to being part of an amazing team to meet our customers expectations. You will also help with picking and packing to fulfill online orders. This position is at our Mount Vernon location and will function and reports to our Store Manager directly.
Demonstrate ability to greet and engage with our customers on the sales floor.
Apply a Heads up approach be aware of customers that require assistance and offer help.
Use product and knowledge to inspire the customer by offering purchasing suggestions, promoting campaigns, offers, activities, and company initiatives.
Keep the fixtures full and tidy regularly throughout the day to maximize sales.
Replenish the sales floor through efficient delivery and refill routines to avoid missed sales.
Ensure all areas of the sales floor and back of house are always clean and tidy, this includes but not limited to : Maintaining cleanliness of sales floor, POS, and BOH areas.
Actively process, stock, and replenish product on sales floor and stock room.
Display merchandise per Christmas In America guidelines to maximize selling opportunities.
Maintain an accurate inventory of the merchandise that is sold. Fulfill online orders from our Christmas In America website and prepare orders to be shipped within efficiency timeline goals.
Accurately pick products from the warehouse stock according to order specifications.
Pack and label products meticulously to ensure they arrive in excellent condition. Handle payments and returns.
Ring on the register, report and handle all required transactions, issue receipts, and place merchandise in appropriate bag following the register best practices routine.
Follow all procedures and routines regarding safety, security, and administrative processes in all areas of the store.
Execute reductions, price changes, and transfers.
Share your knowledge and skills with your colleagues, offering help where needed to build a positive working environment.
Work in accordance with Christmas In America standards and local legislation with health & safety and security routines, to guarantee you, your colleagues, and customer safety at all times.
Qualifications :
Ability to work a 6-day work week.
Available for overnights highly preferable.
Must be able to at least work an 8 hour shift.
Minimum 2 years customer service experience or 2 years experience in a similar role.
Strong customer service skills including effective communication.
Ability to stand on your feet in excess of 10 hours.
Ability to lift 25lbs regularly unassisted.
Computer literacy.
Ability to prioritize and organize workload.
Previous experience with Shopify platform and basic knowledge of shipping / handling procedures preferred.
Previous experience in store merchandising and display strongly preferred.
Knowledge of holiday decor trends and a flair for Christmas is a plus.
