Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,950 - $2,090

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown, PCU, or acute care nursing

BLS certification (required)

ACLS certification (preferred for cardiac nursing jobs)

Proficient in managing cardiac drips (vasopressin, nitroglycerin, antiarrhythmics, insulin, heparin)

Experience with epicardial pacer boxes, tracheostomies, PEG tubes, and chest tubes

Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, such as Epic

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to individuals recovering from cardiac surgery and interventional cardiac procedures

Monitor, titrate, and manage advanced cardiac drips and cardiac devices

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in a clinical setting

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Document patient care and interventions accurately in the EMR

Educate patients and families on post-cardiac care, recovery, and discharge planning
