Overview :
Our client, a publicly traded cybersecurity company in Northern, VA is looking for a Chief of Staff to support the CEO.
You will drive key initiatives on the CEO’s behalf, and help develop and implement strategies to improve operational processes and company culture as the company rapidly grows. You will help increase the CEO’s effectiveness as a leader by identifying opportunities for improvement within the company, managing special projects, prioritizing his time, equipping him with information to make decisions, and holding staff accountable for deliverables. You will serve as a synthesizer of information, integrator of work streams across departments, and trusted confidant. This is a high-impact role that requires strong communication skills, the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities. Our ideal Chief of Staff has a bias for action, a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, ruthless prioritization, the ability to execute, and can communicate complex information across all levels of the business.
Responsibilities :
- Operate at a tactical, strategic, and operational level, handling the oversight of projects and work streams that do not neatly fit within the organizational chart or that falls between teams or leadership areas
- Serve as an advisor to the CEO on business strategy across all areas of the business
- Drive key strategic initiatives and identify priorities that require leadership focus and input
- Maintain a “pulse” of the organization – identify gaps in communication or dysfunctions
- Lead staff & leadership meetings (plan agendas, pre-work / reading, set the tone for the group and hold staff accountable for action items)
- Communicate on CEO’s behalf – ghostwrite email responses and draft communications, both internal and external
- Write investor updates and manage investor relations
- Support M&A Transactions
- Prepare Board of Directors meeting material for Company and University
- Run internal communications, including company-wide All Hands & bi-weekly updates
- Prioritize and protect CEO’s time – partner with his Executive Assistant to optimize his calendar for priorities on a daily and weekly basis
- Help PM for Diversity Efforts
- Monitor competitive trends
- Monitor his social media accounts (Twitter, LinkedIn) and help prepare him for PR opportunities
Qualifications :
3+ years of experience in industry where you needed to solve ambiguous problems eg : investment banking, management consulting, corporate strategy, or experience years in a highly cross-functional role publicly traded companyAbility to summarize, synthesize, and convey complex information in a concise and clear mannerBusiness and financial acumenComfortable in a fast-paced, ambiguous environmentExtreme OrganizationHigh levels of integrity and trustStrong written and verbal communicator with high EQAbility to connect distributed teams in a remote environmentExperience partnering with stakeholders across multiple geographic locations and time zones, in a remote working environmentIt’s a bonus if you have a genuine interest in the Cybersecurity, SaaS, or Government Contracting
