Job description

Job Summary : Join our dedicated team as a Patient Care Assistant, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our patients. You will greet patients, manage check-in and check-out processes, and prepare patients for their visits with medical providers by collecting vital signs and medical histories.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Welcome patients and handle all front desk duties, including check-ins, check-outs, and insurance verification.
  • Maintain accurate patient accounts and records while efficiently scheduling appointments.
  • Collect patient histories and vital signs to assist providers in delivering optimal care.
  • Prepare patients for exams and assist medical providers during examinations and treatments.
  • Perform basic diagnostic tests as directed and assist in collecting and preparing laboratory specimens.
  • Conduct basic laboratory tests and sterilize medical instruments.
  • Administer medications as prescribed, including IM injections, and perform blood draws.
  • Enter data accurately into electronic medical records and manage document scanning and indexing.
  • Organize hospital admissions and laboratory services as needed.
  • Adapt to various tasks assigned by healthcare providers and leadership within the Medical Assistant role.

Job Requirements :

  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Strong ethical character and reliable references.
  • BLS certification required.
  • 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience preferred; pain management experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel between clinics as needed.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Ability to engage professionally with patients and colleagues, providing education and support.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health record management.
  • Working Hours : This position typically operates Monday through Friday from 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM, with the possibility of adjustments based on clinic needs.
