Job Title
Under the general direction of the Public Works Director and / or Assistant Public Works Director, performs hands on, supervisory and technical work in managing the maintenance and repair of City rights of way, infrastructure and equipment.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by seven (7) or more years progressively responsible streets maintenance and management experience, with at least two (2) years having been in a supervisory or lead worker capacity; or an equivalent combination of training or experience in trades work, construction, landscaping, public works, maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida CDL B endorsement, or obtain within 6 months of hire. Must possess, or obtain within 12 months of hire, and maintain a Florida Work Zone Traffic Control Safety Certification. Must possess, or obtain within 12 months of hire, and maintain a Florida Stormwater, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Inspector certification.
Supplemental Information
Considerable knowledge of the construction and maintenance work involved in comprehensive municipal utilities, public works, parks, construction, repair, and maintenance programs. Considerable knowledge of materials, equipment, and supplies used in this work. Skills in the application of maintenance, repair and construction techniques. Skills in the care and use of pertinent tools and equipment. Ability to plan, assign, and lead the work of unskilled and semi-skilled personnel. Ability to maintain operating records and prepare basic reports. Ability to perform work out-of-doors, occasionally under adverse weather conditions. Knowledge of policies, procedures and practices of the Department. Ability to effectively plan, direct, supervise and appraise the work of subordinate employees. Ability to plan and conduct in-service training for subordinate employees. Ability to develop, maintain effective working relationships with user groups, the general public, supervisors and City Management. Ability to communicate effectively and express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to maintain records and submit oral and written reports.
