Delivery Driver

Overview

Delivery Drivers will perform functions to assist the MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority) Warehousing & Logistics Support contract.

Responsibilities

Shall perform a variety of delivery driver duties, to include, but not limited to the following :

Shall be licensed in accordance with local, state, or federal laws (26 FT Covered Box Truck)

Shall possess the basic knowledge and skills required to operate required vehicle

Material must be picked up at or delivered to the correct destination in a timely manner

• Responsible for the successful and accurate completion of all MANCON required logs and safety checks, daily
• Verifying materials against receiving, shipping, storage and inventory documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damage
• Routing materials to prescribed storage, freight forward and / or shipping and receipt locations
• Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed shipping methods
• Process and / or affix, shipment, pick / pack and other paperwork and reports as required
• Operates hand or power trucks and / or forklift in performing truck loading, unloading and delivery of material.
• Deliveries are typically within the local area and include, but are not limited to emergency and scheduled overnight deliveries.
• Inspect vehicles for safety prior to operation
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
