Job description

Position Summary :

We are seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer to support the design, integration, and optimization of mechanical systems and rotating equipment across our industrial operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with material handling systems, conveyors, motors, drives , and rotating machinery, and will contribute to both new equipment projects and ongoing system improvements.

This is a hands-on, cross-functional role working closely with project managers, controls engineers, vendors, and maintenance teams to ensure the mechanical reliability and performance of plant systems.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design and specify mechanical systems and components, including rotating equipment, motors, gearboxes, drives, conveyors, and structural supports
  • Develop 3D models, detailed drawings, and system layouts using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on equipment selection, integration, and installation
  • Analyze system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement design improvements for reliability and maintainability
  • Support capital projects through all phases - scoping, vendor evaluation, procurement, installation, and commissioning
  • Prepare technical documentation including equipment specifications, engineering calculations, and preventive maintenance plans
  • Work with operations and maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues and support root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, safety standards, and internal engineering practices

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 3-10 years of experience in mechanical system design, rotating equipment, or material handling environments
  • Solid understanding of mechanical drives, motors, bearings, and power transmission systems
  • Experience with 3D modeling tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor
  • Familiarity with fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly methods
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of vibration analysis, lubrication systems, or equipment reliability engineering is a plus
  • Preferred Experience (Not Required) :

  • Exposure to industrial automation systems or integration with PLC / controls teams
  • Project engineering or field support for equipment installations
  • Experience in industries such as manufacturing, mining, energy, or heavy industrial sectors
