About the Department

The Ambulatory Surgery Center is a brand new facility located in a premier location near the hospital on Breckenridge Lane containing 6 OR suites and 1 procedure room. This addition to the Baptist Health system provides a state of the art free standing outpatient surgery facility achieving high efficiency for surgeons and the best experience for patients. Surgical specialties include urology, gynecology, plastic surgery, oculoplasty, general surgery, and pain management. Perioperative experience is required.

Job Summary

The surgical technologist works under the direct supervision of a RN in the operating room environment. Must possess strong clinical knowledge and skills regarding operating room procedures. Must be highly motivated and self-directed with a positive attitude and good communication skills. Wiling to have flexible work schedules and duties which will include ancillary duties as cleaning rooms between cases, stocking room, helping in the central sterile area and have a proven record to expedite room turn over, good organizational skills and an understanding of importance of teamwork in a fast paced environment.

Requirements

Must have completed vocational or military technologist training course or one year of experience as Scrub Tech.

Certified Surgical Technologist preferred.
