Job descriptionPerform initial and ongoing assessments of laboring patients and their newborns; develop and implement individualized care plans and evaluate outcomes. Monitor maternal and fetal status (including electronic fetal monitoring), identify changes, and intervene or escalate as appropriate. Assist with labor management including induction, augmentation, pain management, and postpartum care; administer medications and perform obstetric nursing interventions. Provide patient- and family-centred education on labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, newborn care and breastfeeding. Collaborate effectively with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiology, neonatal team and other disciplines for safe, coordinated care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all nursing care, assessments, interventions and outcomes in the electronic record. Participate in unit performance improvement, quality and safety initiatives; contribute to shared decision‐making and nursing practice development. Precept and mentor new staff, support a positive team environment, and model professionalism, respect and lifelong learning. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred). Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia (or Compact License). Certifications required : BLS (Basic Life Support); Obstetric / (Maternal-Newborn) certifications such as Electronic Fetal Monitoring preferred; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred. Previous Labor & Delivery nursing experience preferred (1-2 years or more in obstetric care). Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, time-management and communication skills in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to patient-and family-centered care, teamwork and continuous improvement. Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Labor & Delivery team in Augusta, GA. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to expectant mothers and newborns across the spectrum of labor, delivery and immediate postpartum care. You will be part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team in a high-acuity obstetric environment and have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the patient experience and clinical outcomes.
