Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Long Term Acute Care Discipline : RN Start Date : ASAP Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift Job Description The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while emphasizing the importance of patient and employee safety and adheres to safety policies and procedures. Responsibilities Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission. Provide patient information and status in a timely manner for team conferences. Utilize the nursing process to deliver direct patient care with an emphasis on education for patients and families. Initiate discharge planning on all patients from the day of admission. Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to support continuity of care. Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel. Contribute positively to unit functioning and engage in team-building activities. Assume charge responsibility following the orientation period as requested. Actively pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift ACLS Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY) Minimum of Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience ICU Experience is Highly Desired Schedule This position operates on a night shift schedule, working three 12-hour shifts.
