Find your calling at Mercy! The Orthopedic Technician, while under the supervision of the physician / surgeon assists in rendering care and providing services to the orthopedic patient. The Orthopedic Technician is a specifically trained allied health individual in the field of orthopedic medicine. Position Details : Qualifications : Education : High School Diploma or equivalent GED. Licensure : None Experience : Minimum 2 years as orthopedic technician, unless certified as an OTC by the National Board of Certification of Orthopedic Technologists. Previous physician office experience. Certifications : None Other : 1. Eligible for staff privileges at hospitals where physician / surgeons work. 2. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy and medical terminology. 3. Competency in applying casts and splints and surgical technology. Preferred Qualifications : Education : Post-secondary certificate or associate's degree as orthopedic technician from a technology program Licensure : None Experience : 3 years of Orthopedic experience including casting, bracing, splinting, suture removal, pin removal, dressing changes and wound care Certifications : Certified as an OTC by the National Board of Certification Why Mercy?
