Principal Accountabilities
Safety Programs :
- Maintain EH&S systems data associated with regulatory compliance, incidents and audits, including action plans and compliance tracking
- Creating a compliance register for federal and state regulations pertaining to the Valhalla site operations.
- Maintain and update site register as needed based on regulatory updates
- Manage and / or support the site’s Health & Safety, Technical and Environmental GEHSMS standard programs based on industry knowledge, skillset and experience
- Assist EH&S and CISPro teams in the collection of safety data sheets from vendors
- Assist EH&S and GEHSMS teams tasked with Chemical Storage and Management compliance
- EH&S Risk Assessment and Job hazard analysis project management support
Chemical Ordering & Procurement Process :
Recordkeeping and regular reporting of chemical purchasing trends, projected needs, and related data (i.e., chemical selection, purchasing, ownership and flammable-corrosive flavor volume data)Collate chemical order data from all Analytical, Measurement Science, Flavor and PD teamsInitiation of hazardous chemical assessment process for handling & exposure risk(s)Initial Risk Assessment review based on safety data sheet informationQuarterly and annual review of the procurement process, trends, and proceduresWorking knowledge of the Westchester R&D chemical inventory program (CISPro), including :
Chemical receiving and stock management site workflowSegregation of hazardous materials on the loading dock / receiving areaUtilization and data input into chemical inventory tracking and reporting software, utilizing handheld scanners as neededChemical container labeling and subsequent delivery practicesRecurrent review and reconciliation of laboratory and storage chemical inventoriesCritical Competencies

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a science related field preferred1-3 years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, or R&D environment (Preferred)Working knowledge of hazardous chemicals and EHS regulatory requirementsExperience with database storage and management software (for example : CISPro, SAP, SiteHawk) (Preferred)Hazardous materials handling experience (Preferred)Understanding of NFPA / OSHA / GHS classifications and requirementsAdvanced computer skills and competencies with Microsoft Office software, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat; and the ability to learn new programsFamiliarity with portable barcode scanning devices a plusDOT certification (Preferred)Outstanding team working skills, quick learner
