Job description

Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist Opportunity - Near Sacramento, CA

We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens position near Sacramento, CA. This role involves providing both clinic-based consultative care and performing GI procedures. The ideal candidate will be available to work for at least six months to a year. This opportunity offers a chance to work in a dynamic clinical environment and assist with the backlog of diagnostic and screening procedures.

Position Details :

  • Specialty : Gastroenterology
  • Shift Type : Days
  • Shift Times :

Weekdays : 8 : 00 AM 5 : 00 PM

  • Monday through Friday
  • Assignment Duration : ASAP - Ongoing (6 months to a year)

    • Primary Duties :

  • Setting : Clinic and outpatient
  • Procedures : Colonoscopy and endoscopy, 2-3 days per week
  • Patient Load :

    • 16-20 patients per day in the clinic

  • 8-10 procedures per day in the outpatient center
  • Consultative and Follow-Up Care : Provide care in the ambulatory clinic setting
  • Support Staff : Assigned medical assistant and procedure scheduler

    • Key Responsibilities :

  • Clinic Setting : The provider will work 5 days a week in an outpatient clinic setting.
  • GI Procedures : Perform routine GI procedures such as colonoscopies and endoscopies.
  • Call : Minimal call responsibilities, primary focus is clinic and procedures.

    • Requirements :

  • Board Certification / Eligibility : Gastroenterology
  • State License : Active California license required
  • Gastroenterology Fellowship : Strongly preferred
  • Malpractice : Clean malpractice history strongly preferred

    • EMR System :

  • Cerner : Experience with Cerner EMR preferred

    • Credentialing :

  • Emergency / Temporary Privileges : Not available
  • Start Date : ASAP - Ongoing
