Summary

This position is responsible for assisting the Buildings Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the Buildings Team. The Lead Maintenance Tech – Buildings may perform weekend and holiday maintenance on-call duties when scheduled and after hour emergency calls when required. Assigned duties, hours and location of work areas are subject to change as determined by the Facilities Division to meet the needs of the agency. Responsibilities include frequent direction of semi-skilled and unskilled labor in high profile areas. Professional level interpersonal communication skills are required for this position along with the ability to provide construction management for building-related projects. This is accomplished by having the knowledge, experience, and technical background required to perform these tasks with minimal outside assistance or direction. This is accomplished by knowledge and use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Building Energy Management System (BMS). In the absence of the Buildings Supervisor, assumes delegated responsibilities to assist in daily operation of the Building Maintenance Team. This position will be subject to obtaining a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) security classification. Will be required to work scheduled shift during Snow and Ice events performing various tasks as trained.

This is a designated Essential Employee position as defined in the NTTA Employee Handbook. An essential employee is one whose attendance is required to maintain agency operations during an emergency or inclement weather situation.

Starting Pay : $22.64

$2,000 Retention Bonus

Responsibilities

  • Maintains Key Computer Program Data Base and repair of all lock and door hardware systems.
  • Reads and understands control diagrams and schematics used in Key making equipment.
  • Maintains a large number of door systems and equipment
  • Completes related office work by checking work orders, answering requests, assigning and creating work schedules, setting goals for productivity increases, requesting parts, maintaining records of supplies and equipment used, estimating jobs, ordering supplies, picking up materials, and completing required paperwork.
  • Completes requests for service by using hand and power tools, assembling and disassembling objects and equipment, utilizes meters and test equipment to determine the nature and location of problems, then makes repairs as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
  • Performs Quality Assurance and Quality Control for maintenance Contracts for Janitorial work, repairs, and inspections for building assets.
  • Performs supervision of in-house projects to repair walls, ceilings, flooring, and plumbing.
  • Reviews construction drawings for new projects to insure correctness of design.
  • Preserves the appearance and safety of the buildings and appurtenances, fabricating parts when needed, servicing and troubleshooting parts, inspecting roads during severe weather alerts, interacting with patrons, repairing equipment owned by the agency, and maintaining safety awareness.
  • Works closely with other departments and team members on other facilities repairs and projects as assigned by Buildings Supervisor.
  • Works closely with other departments and team members, prioritizing and scheduling work. Assists with training. Complies with all NTTA Policies. Completes tasks and work orders in detail. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Repairs and maintains functional units for assigned area of responsibility and responds to emergency calls.
  • Required to respond to emails and phone calls received outside of normal business hours as necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • 6 months / 1-year of education or training beyond a high school diploma
  • 5-7 years' experience
  • Class "B" CDL
  • Preferred

  • Locksmith license
  • HVAC Certification
