SUMMARY :
Lead the development and execution of the materials roadmap strategy and oversees the end-to-end materials management process from procurement to inventory control and supplier relationship management. This role ensures the efficient flow of materials through the supply chain to support production goals, cost targets, and quality standards for all manufacturing sites.
Working cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Operations Management, and Manufacturing teams, the Corporate Materials Manager ensures a seamless flow of direct materials to enable on-time program delivery and cost-effective execution in a fast pace and complex environment. The role also oversees the efficient procurement, warehousing, and distribution of inventory and material resources to meet operational demands through effective materials strategies.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Vision to Strategy Execution : Develop and execute a comprehensive, long-term materials management strategy aligned with organizational goals. Drive initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve productivity across the supply chain.
- Transformation & Innovation : Lead key transformation initiatives including digitalization, supplier collaboration, and inventory optimization. Champion lean principles and operational excellence throughout the materials function.
- Collaboration & Alignment : Collaborate with Engineering, Logistics, Manufacturing, Quality, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless integration of materials strategies with product design, manufacturability, and business objectives.
- Team Development : Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team across planning, procurement, and logistics. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Supplier Relationship Management : Establish and maintain strong supplier partnerships to ensure quality, reliability, and alignment with business needs.
- Operational Excellence : Oversee planning, scheduling, and inventory management to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency. Implement lean manufacturing techniques to optimize material usage and minimize waste.
- Risk, Compliance & Safety : Monitor and manage supply chain risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Promote a culture of safety and quality across the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Engineering, or Business with a minimum of 5 years in the areas of direct material purchasing, planning, scheduling and inventory management. Extensive knowledge of materials / logistics management with a strong emphasis on Lean Manufacturing (i.e., JIT, Kanban, push / pull systems, material throughput, department loading), MRP system management, and inventory reduction.
Strong strategic thinking, planning, and organizational skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Proficient in industry-standard MRP systems, data analytics, and presentation tools.Solid understanding of business planning processes and key business metrics to be achieved.Able to work independently and achieve set goals.
