Your key responsibilities will include :
- Implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, procedures, and special tests while documenting treatments as required.
- Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions effectively.
- Assessing and evaluating patient needs and responses to care rendered.
- Applying sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Providing primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administering medications as ordered, including over-the-counter and prescription medications.
- Collaborating with the nursing team to develop a comprehensive Plan of Care for all patients.
- Directing and guiding ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.
Qualifications :
Graduate of a professional nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).Current NYS Registered Nurse license.Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.A minimum of 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg, Progressive Care, or ICU.Strong communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools, along with the ability to apply them for departmental and patient care quality improvement.Thank you for considering a career with Albany Medical Center!
