Armed Security Officer - Security and Safety - 40 hrs / wk - Variable Shift - Novi

Job Title : Security Officer

General Summary : Provides security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors. Responsibilities include performing proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential / actual security threats, investigating, documenting, and managing security incidents and hazards, maintaining knowledge / following policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency / disaster preparedness plans, facilitating planned drills and simulations, providing information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety, and operating in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations for those security officers who are responsible for operating a vehicle.

Certifications / Licensures Required : Drivers License credentialed from the Michigan Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Michigan Concealed Pistol License, BLS Provider preferred (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted), Law Enforcement preferred, Management of Aggressive Behavior credentialed from the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International, Inc. preferred, Security Professional preferred.

Education / Experience Required : High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience, 3 years security, law enforcement, military or fire experience. Required professional licensure / certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
