As a Customer Service Associate, you will welcome customers to Lowe's and help them find the right products and services for their home improvement needs. You will interact with customers throughout the day, help them find and select products, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure all customer needs are met. While you will spend most of your time listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise, your daily responsibilities may vary by department. Customer Service Associates work in one of the following departments, based on hiring needs and skillsets : Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Dcor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services.

Key responsibilities include : welcoming customers to Lowe's, answering questions, and delivering friendly and professional customer service; assisting customers with locating and handling merchandise; down stocking merchandise by looking for empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies; processing orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time; cross-functionally training in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service; preparing merchandise in your department based on customer needs; and completing other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications include : six months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information; six months of experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets; reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic; and being able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties. Minimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with or without an accommodation.

Preferred qualifications include : six months of retail and / or customer service experience; bi-lingual skills; and certification in trade related to department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber / building materials).

This role does not require regular travel; however, this role may need to travel occasionally to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores. Working conditions vary by location. You may be working in both inside and outside weather conditions. Exposure to varying climates, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions, is possible. You may be exposed to constant or intermittent noises in addition to moving or shaking objects and equipment. Lifting methods vary based on role, weight, and volume. Associates must follow guidelines, limiting single lifts to 75 pounds. Team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
