Job Description
Position Summary :
Service, repair and perform routine maintenance for hydraulic servo units, proportional valve, circuit boards that control hydraulic systems and machinery / equipment, such as robots.
Responsibilities / Duties :
- Troubleshoot circuit board with the attempt to find the root cause analysis.
- Disassembles Servo and Proportional controls and subassemblies.
- Inspects all parts for conformance to specifications.
- Prepares written documentation of work to be performed including but not limited to, bill of materials, stock in report, purchase requisition and computer documentation sheet.
- Assembles Servo and Proportional controls and subassemblies using required parts and components in a cost-effective manner to conform to installation and performance specifications of original manufacture.
- Replace failed components in a cost effective manner to conform to installation and performance specifications of original manufacture.
- Test, troubleshoot and calibrate to manufacture specifications.
- Able to use a variety of tools required for repair such as micrometers, veunier calipers, multi-meter and various other hand tools.
- Possess a basic understanding of hydraulic valves and be able to properly punch mark and teardown valves
- Disassemble components and power units for service and repair including teardown and inspection of unit.
- Soldering and De-soldering of through-hole and surface mount components.
- Analyze unit and parts involved to prepare a listing of parts that are worn, damaged, or not functioning properly.
- Able to "run in" servo valves on hydraulic test stands, build standard servo valves and set up and test servo valves.
- Use huntron, digital voltmeter, capacitor checker to static test components.
- Read and comprehend manuals to setup testing.
- Assist in reverse engineering of electrical units.
- Ensures safety rules and safe work practices are followed throughout department.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in work and test area.
- Notifies supervision of any problems or delays that may cause late shipment.
- Ability to read blueprints is a plus

Education / Experience :
High School Diploma and 1-2 years of education in electronics; or two to three years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to read interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals for various electrical equations.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Specific Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications, etc. :
Understanding of electrical componentsAbility to use various tools such as oscilloscope, multi-meter and huntron.Proficient soldering skillsMust be detail orientedMust be highly motivated and able to work independently.Regularly required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.Must be able to regularly lift and / or move objects up to 25 lbs. consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Exposure to elements such as odor, hydraulic fluids, noise, dust, heat, cold, or chemicals.Personal Protective Equipment :
Safety Glasses are required, Steel Toe Work Boots recommended.Other PPE equipment as required.Work Environment :
Manufacturing plant shop environment; regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.About Us
