Job Description
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage sales performance, and effectively manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts. Build strong customer relationships, solve customer needs, and maximize short‑ and long‑term sales performance while placing the patient at the center of all efforts and operating within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those objectives.
- Create a pre‑call plan using SMART objectives and execute post‑call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance.
- Handle objections and concerns to consistently gain logical and reasonable calls to action and close every sales call.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win‑win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that maximizes coverage and frequency to key customers to increase access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, product, clinical, and sales expertise, and share market intelligence with the in‑field team, brand team, and sales manager.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers, identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers / advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred; relevant industry experience required.At least five years of experience in the pharma / health / science industry, or three years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree; high school diploma / GED required.In‑depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic and critical thinking; ability to operate in a matrix environment.Proven sales success and solid presentation skills; adaptable selling approach; ability to anticipate and respond to changes.Credible, respected role model who builds collaborative partnership with district colleagues; leads by example and displays positive behaviors.Leadership experience with increased responsibility at district, region, or organizational level.Preferred : Proven sales performance within therapeutic areas; experience in physician / account‑based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.English language proficiency (verbal and written) for all non‑English speaking countries.Must satisfy all applicable Health Care Industry Representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements and maintain them in good standing.Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre‑employment drug screening and meet safe‑driving requirements.Ability to drive a personal auto or company vehicle, or powered material handling equipment.Key Stakeholders
External : Specialty physicians in the therapeutic brand area, pharmacists, nurses, and others depending on the brand plan.Internal : In‑field team members, Sales Management (DSM), Marketing Management, Training, Customer Excellence, and Brand Plan stakeholders.Additional Information
