Traffic Project Engineer

Overview

What We're Looking For : Barge Design Solutions is currently seeking to fill the position of Traffic Engineer (PE) in our Nashville, TN office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and manage Traffic Impact Studies (TIS) for various development projects.
• Perform operational analyses using Synchro, SIDRA, and HCS to evaluate intersection and corridor performance.
• Design and review traffic signal plans, including phasing, wiring, and detection layouts, in compliance with TDOT and local standards.
• Collaborate with project team members, client representatives, and review agencies to resolve a variety of complex problems.
• Supervise the work of less experienced engineers and / or technical support personnel assigned to the project.
• Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, plans, specifications, and permits for projects.
• Use computer aided engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
• Prepare cost estimates for assigned projects.
• Conduct project site visits, as needed.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills; work independently on multiple tasks without immediate supervision.
• Build and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of Tennessee Department of Transportation and Nashville Department of Transportation systems, policies, and procedures.
• Understand standard operations, policies and procedures of a firm, preferably within the A / E industry.
• Perform other duties as requested.
