Interventional Radiology Tech Regular Full-Time (Days) Position Summary The Interventional Radiology Technologist performs specialized diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures within the Interventional Radiology (IR) suite. This role supports physicians during minimally invasive image-guided procedures, ensures radiation safety compliance, and maintains all required documentation in the electronic medical record (EPIC). The technologist provides high-quality imaging and patient care in a fast-paced procedural environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and operate fluoroscopy and interventional imaging equipment during vascular and non-vascular procedures. Assist physicians by anticipating procedural needs, managing sterile fields, and ensuring accurate documentation. Monitor patient condition before, during, and after procedures, maintaining communication with the care team. Administer contrast agents and medications as directed within scope and according to hospital protocol. Maintain and troubleshoot imaging and radiation-monitoring equipment, ensuring adherence to quality-control standards. Document procedures, supplies, and images accurately in EPIC . Enforce all radiation protection and infection-control standards. Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours coverage for emergency procedures. Qualifications (Legally Required) Current and valid Illinois Radiologic Technologist license . ARRT(R) certification required; ARRT(VI) preferred. BLS (AHA) certification required. Minimum 2 years of recent interventional radiology or cath lab experience in an acute care setting. EPIC experience required. Shift Details Regular full-time Day shift : 0645 1515 , Monday through Friday. On-call requirement : approximately 15 days per month for emergency or after-hours procedures.
