Orion Group is seeking a Finance Lead to support financial planning and analysis activities across various corporate functions for our pharmaceutical client in Lake County, IL.
This role is responsible for planning cycles, monthly financial reporting, capital expenditure processes, and communicating financial insights to business stakeholders. The Finance Lead also supports technology and strategic investment decisions and participates in ongoing process improvements.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong SAP experience with the ability to navigate financial systems
- Experience in financial management reporting and communicating insights
- Ability to approve and monitor spend against purchase orders
- Understanding of Capital Expenditure / RCE processes
- Strong written and verbal communication; proactive approach to stakeholder support
Responsibilities
Lead annual Plan, LRP, and LBE cycles including projections for P&L, headcount, capital, and project expensesPrepare planning schedules and supporting analysis for leadership reviewPartner with Finance Shared Services on monthly close to ensure accurate and timely financial resultsProvide variance analysis for P&L, headcount, and capital categoriesCommunicate monthly results and financial issues to business partners and support resolutionProvide insights into financial performance, risks, and opportunitiesLead financial approvals including purchase orders and invoice reviewSupport ad hoc financial analyses, continuous improvement initiatives, and special projectsQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required (MBA or CPA preferred)Minimum 6+ years of progressive financial analysis or accounting experienceStrong Excel skills; SAP experience required; Aspire and TM1 preferredAbility to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlinesStrong communication, analytical ability, and cross-functional collaborationDemonstrated ability to identify process improvementsKey Leadership Competencies
