Black Warrior – Tombigbee Waterway Project (Tuscaloosa AL)

R&D Maintenance Services, Inc. provides operations and maintenance services on U.S Army Corps of Engineers projects throughout the southeast - since 1980. We are the Operations and Maintenance Contractor for the Black Warrior – Tombigbee Waterway Project providing machinery and facility maintenance and repair on several hundred miles of waterway, multiple recreations areas, and 9 locks / dams / spillways on the system. R&D is an EEO Employer.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION :

Performs in a variety of situations including grounds maintenance, facility cleaning and litter removal, and trail and road maintenance. Assists with a variety of trades and craft duties involving maintenance, repair and improvement of equipment, facilities, roads, fences, utility systems, etc. May work individually or as member of a crew. Maintenance work performed assisting a skilled craftsperson. Entry Level positions with growth opportunity based on performance, skills, and knowledge.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Operate hand and powered lawn / grounds equipment.
• Cleans facilities, restrooms, and showers; removes trash and refuse.
• Plants and / or maintains grass, flowers, trees and shrubs.
• Loads, transports and unloads material, tools, equipment and supplies.
• Repairs and paints fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails and outbuildings.
• Performs or assists with lifting, positioning and securing of material and work pieces during installation.
• Performs minor maintenance & cleaning activities for tools and equipment.
• Maintains a clean work area.
• Works indoor and outdoor assignments. May also be required to operate a motor vehicle.
• Participates in the R&D Safety and Quality Control Programs and upholds safety and quality requirements.
• Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
