Role Overview

As a vital member of our emergency response team, you will provide immediate medical care to individuals affected by accidents, critical illnesses, and injuries. You will deliver pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support from the moment contact is made until the patient’s transfer to receiving medical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the ambulance service at public functions and provide stand-by services at events as needed.
• Accurately document assessments and treatments using patient care charting software.
• Provide care to patients experiencing psychiatric, medical, and traumatic crises, employing both therapeutic and medical techniques.
• Work as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Utilize advanced medical equipment, including bag valve mask resuscitators and external defibrillators, in life support scenarios.
• Assess the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses, prioritizing medical procedures as necessary.
• Respond to dispatcher instructions while operating emergency vehicles safely and effectively.
• Administer medications per physician’s orders, through various procedures such as injections and IVs.
• Engage with medical professionals at emergency treatment facilities to obtain treatment instructions.
• Ensure cleanliness and decontamination of ambulances following patient transport, reporting any infectious disease incidents.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs over short distances. Frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead is required.
