NICU Registered Nurse Job Details

Location : Ithaca, NY 14850 (New York healthcare jobs)

Setting : Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) – Maternal Child Health Department

Employment Type : Travel RN Contract

Start Date : June 23, 2025

End Date : September 22, 2025

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2100-$2250

NICU RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State (NYS)

Minimum 1 year of RN experience; NICU or Maternal Child Health experience strongly preferred

Associate of Applied Science in Nursing or higher degree

BLS certification required upon hire

ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required within 6 months of hire

Ability to perform light lifting and repetitive hand / finger movements

Capable of sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods and operating clinical equipment

NICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to neonates and maternal child health patients in the NICU

Collaborate with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Perform patient observation, data collection, care planning, implementation, and evaluation

Address patients’ physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs

Adhere to nursing standards and scope of practice (AWONN, ACOG, NNA, AORN)
