Job Title : Reliability Coordinator

Classification : Exempt

Job Purpose : The Reliability Coordinator is charged with directing, planning, scheduling, and safe execution of the Reliability Team activities. These tasks will be completed using company personnel as well as the use of various contractors.

T he following is a list of major duties and responsibilities for this position along with certain supportive duties. It is not all-inclusive. Individual responsibilities and ownership will be further outlined in a separate document. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and in addition, management may modify this job description as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Support and promote the safe, compliant, and clean operation of plant assets and ensure Reliability Team personnel and contractors follow safe work practices.
  • Lead the Reliability Team in the successful completion of the day-to-day tasks and objectives. This will include being out in the field with them, sharing knowledge and experience, obtaining additional resources when needed, and sourcing parts as required.
  • Lead Reliability Team training program utilizing a systematic approach that includes performing assessments of team performance to identify knowledge deficiencies, reviewing rework work orders, and keeping pace with industry technical improvements.
  • Develops and oversees the implementation of departmental Standard Operating Procedures for the maintenance of a safe and clean facility
  • Assess and ensure that we are maximizing the use of Alto Ingredients internal employees and responsible for oversight of the maintenance budget.
  • Utilize analytical and engineering tools to identify, reduce, and / or eliminate repeated equipment failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost, or regulatory compliance issues.
  • Defines, designs, develops, monitors, and refines asset maintenance plan that includes value-added preventive maintenance tasks and effective utilization of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance such as mechanical integrity, rotating equipment, vibration analysis, infra-red imaging, lubrication, failure analysis, and general facilities infrastructure
  • Responsible for ranking the criticality of the assets, typically using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) approaches, and for defining the proactive maintenance approaches.
  • Conducts audits on a periodic and as needed basis focused on safety, regulatory compliance, maintenance effectiveness, PSM / Mechanical Integrity compliance, cost savings, and energy conservation and implements corrective actions.
  • Maintains records on equipment histories and costs, coordinates with operations and Reliability Team personnel for needed changes toward increasing reliability. Coordinates the creation of the spare parts list and lubrication list for the entire plant in conjunction with Vendor recommendations and industry standards making use of plant computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Communicating with plant stakeholders and informing them of schedule and project KPI’s, incidents, impact, and recommended actions. responsible for equipment repair and diagnosis. provide oversight and in-field supervision of plant mechanics and contractors

Additional Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with the Alto Campus Reliability Team, with a focus on aligning strategy across the campus.
  • Assist with plant schedule development and work order planning for the plant weekly schedule and planned / unplanned outages / turn-around schedules.
  • Execute small to medium Expense and / or Reliability projects.
  • Identify and retain multidisciplinary engineering services required to complete the projects. Track work and ensure proper communication between all disciplines. Ensure proper document control and filing.

  • Prepare procurement packages, lead competitive bid process, purchase, expedite and inspect materials, equipment services etc.
  • Project controls including cost estimation and tracking, schedule preparation and tracking, contract administration, management of change orders, claims and / or disputes.
  • Construction management including work progress tracking, quality control, safety and security, materials and equipment management, and supervision. Ensure compliance with all environmental and regulatory obligations.
  • Lead equipment start-up, commissioning, and training process. Ensure proper turn-over of project to operations and maintenance including drawings, documents, procedures, spare parts, maintenance schedules, and support services.
  • Position Requirements :

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in an Industrial Maintenance related role.
  • Basic knowledge of either mechanical or electrical theory and principals and their practical applications, but both preferred.
  • Ability to plan and organize the work of others.
  • Ability to delegate and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with project team members and stakeholders to receive and produce schedule information.
  • Must be able to participate fully in all project and department meetings and discussions effectively.
  • Must understand how to operate in a Microsoft Office Environment.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous outage scheduling and execution preferred.
  • Previous project management experience preferred.
  • PMP or other PMI certification would be beneficial but is not required.

  • Previous training and experience in Main Saver would be beneficial but is not required.
  • Education / Experience Requirements :

  • Reading, writing, math, and computer and Microsoft Office Software knowledge.
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Preferred candidates would meet at least one of the following :
  • Engineering or Construction Management Degree.

  • Minimum of 4 years’ leadership experience in an Industrial Maintenance related role.
  • Successfully completed an approved training program and at least 4 years’ experience in an Industrial Maintenance related role.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Must be able to work in cold to hot temperatures; work around dust, fumes, and / or moderate to loud noises; works inside and / or outside.
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders; walk on paved and unpaved surfaces; sit at a desk and operate a computer and keyboard; visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear, speak, and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone; lift horizontally and vertically, bend, stoop, stand, and reach.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Criminal background check and drug screen required.
