Registered Nurse (RN) – Med / Surg Telemetry (Day Shift)

Shift : 12H Days | 6 : 30 AM – 7 : 00 PM | Every Other Weekend

Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week

Contract Length : 13 weeks (84 days)

Position Overview :

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality patient care on a 24-bed Med / Surg Telemetry unit, serving patients with a variety of conditions including CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and chronic kidney disease. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care while maintaining strong communication and time-management skills.

Unit Details :

Beds : 24

Patient Ratio : 1 : 6

Support Staff : PCTs (1 : 12 ratio), Charge Nurse, House Supervisor, and Nurse Educator available

Monitoring : Telemetry monitor techs on staff; RNs must be able to read strips

Respiratory Equipment : CPAP, BiPAP, and High Flow Oxygen available

Floating : May float to all Med / Surg units

Requirements :

License : Active RN License (state-specific)

Certifications : BLS required

Experience : Strong communication and time management skills; prior Med / Surg or Tele experience preferred

Education : BSN not required

Additional Details :

Scheduling : 12-hour shifts, managed by the department (block scheduling not guaranteed)

Weekend : Every other weekend required

Holidays : Required as scheduled

Call / Standby : None

Charting System : Paragon

Scrub Color : Navy Blue

Orientation : Department orientation provided (Kurth Tower – Med / Surg Tele)
