Job description

Randolph High School is seeking a Special Education Teacher for their Intensive-Independent Learning Community ProgramThe Independent Learning Community (ILC) at Randolph High School is a sub-separate program for grades 9 through 12 designed to meet the needs of students with intellectual impairments and those on the autism spectrum. These students require significant specialized instruction in academics and substantial curriculum modifications often working on access skills or entry point levels. The ILC provides small group instruction with a low student-to-staff ratio promoting academic and social success through a developmentally appropriate multi-sensory program embeds opportunities to practice functional communication self-help and social-emotional skills. Students also engage in activities of daily living (ADLs) community access and transition skills with ongoing instruction to help them gain independence. The ILCs tailored approach ensures that each students unique needs are met fostering both academic and personal Responsibilities include but are not limited to : -Develop weekly lesson plans that contain all of the required components covering all content areas (ELA Math Science Life Skills and Vocational Skills).-Deliver instruction utilizing appropriate resources equipment materials technology and instructional strategies.-Provide differentiated instruction based on the students individual level of functioning and preferred learning modalities.-Consult with BCBA utilizing ABA methodologies in instruction with students as necessary.-Provide a positive role model of appropriate and respectful interactions with students and staff.-Develop teach and review clear and concise classroom rules routines procedures and expectations.-Develop a daily / weekly schedule of instructional and non-instructional activities for each paraprofessional.-Maintain constant and ongoing communication regarding students and all facets of the program.-Follow the appropriate chain of command when questions issues and / or concerns arise.-Accurately complete all required paperwork within the designated : Salary and Work Year (182 days) consistent with the Randolph Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement
