Job description

SCI, the leading real estate search firm, is seeking a Vice President of Investor Relations / Capital Markets to join a successful multi-family residential developer with a growing build-to-rent platform.

The VP will spearhead investor relations and lead capital raising efforts with institutional investors, family offices, and accredited investors to help the company continue to scale its portfolio.

The position can be based in Cleveland, Chicago or Detroit.

Responsibilities : Capital Raising

  • Source and develop relationships with institutional, family office, and accredited investors.
  • Educate prospective investors on our investment philosophy and performance track record.
  • Proactively identify and engage with investors and real estate organizations to increase the company's visibility and attract investment interest.
  • Present current investment opportunities to network investors and secure investment commitments to meet equity need targets.

Investor Relations

  • Act as primary point of contact for investor inquiries and communications, working with Asset Management to deliver timely and accurate responses to investors.
  • Oversee and utilize investor management software, including tracking capital raise progress for near term projects.
  • Develop and implement an effective investor relations strategy to maximize the company's reputation among existing and prospective investors.
  • Capital Environment Analysis

  • Analyze trends within the real estate capital markets sphere to provide insightful analysis and recommendations to ownership on investor sentiment and market positioning.
  • Monitor changing conditions within real estate equity markets to understand standard pricing and terms in the market.
  • Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in real estate capital markets, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in investor relations and capital raising.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently, and with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Understanding and ability to articulate preferred returns, equity splits, and waterfall structures.
  • Existing network of institutional groups, family offices, and accredited investors.
  • Experience with investor management software preferred (Juniper Square, Appfolio).
