A well-established and growing machining operation in Paramount, CA is looking for an experienced
- Machine Shop Foreman
- to lead their 1st shift team. This company serves a variety of industries, including aerospace, cryogenics, automotive, and technology, and is known for its stability, long employee tenure, and strong company culture. Position Overview :
The Machine Shop Foreman will oversee 1st shift shop operations, process development, quality standards, and continual growth. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong technical knowledge of machining processes, the ability to troubleshoot issues, and the skills to effectively manage and mentor a team, while working on CNC lathe machines.
Schedule & Overtime :
1st Shift : Monday - Thursday, 4x10 scheduleOvertime : Available on FridaysCompensation & Benefits :

Responsibilities : Hands on Machining :
Edit programs and set up lathe machines
Ensure efficient machine set up, operation, and maintenance to maximize productivity
Lead
Supervise and coordinate all aspects of 1st shift machine shop operations
Mentor and coach new and existing machinists
Drive process improvement
Seek new technology and techniques to improve the shop
Collaborate
Work with Manufacturing Engineer to develop processes
Maintain complete and accurate set up documentation
Qualifications :
Technical Expertise :
Proficient in machining tools, part creation, setup, and overall manufacturing processes.Hands-on experience in part-making and process development.Strong background in MasterCAM programming.Manufacturing & Process Development :
Experience collaborating with manufacturing engineers to refine and optimize part production.Ability to develop and improve machining processes for efficiency and quality.Commitment to continuous improvement and seeking new technologies and techniques.Leadership & Team Development :
Proven supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team.Ability to train and mentor others by explaining the "why" behind processes and coaching team members.Education & Background :
Shop education or equivalent hands-on experience.Completion of a four-year apprenticeship or extensive machining experience.Strong understanding of machining principles.Hands-On & Organizational Skills :
Willingness to be hands-on in machining and part-making.Excellent organizational skills for managing hardware and documentation.Ability to improve setup documentation, including creating and refining setup sheets.Communication & Documentation :
Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to ensure accurate and complete setup documentation.Please note this is an ITAR regulated facility requiring US Citizenship.
