The Shawano School District has an opening for an Administrative Assistant in it's main office at the middle school. This is a full-time, 12-month position. The Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the Office of The Principal. We are seeking a highly organized, student-centered, and service-oriented professional to join our team as a Building Administrative Assistant. Role Responsibilities
In this role, you will manage a variety of important functions that keep our school operating at its best. You will oversee building budgets, purchasing, and financial workflows-including purchase orders, expense tracking, and coordination with the district business office. As a welcoming first point of contact for families and community members, you will support daily needs for the building including communication of announcements, newsletters, Skyward messages, and coordinating substitute staffing needs. Additionally, you will help organize school-wide events, coordinate bell and testing schedules, coordinate room reservations and facility use, and help to ensure smooth operational systems by maintaining building procedures. You will also be supporting field trip approvals and upholding accurate and confidential records ensuring that all student-related data and documentation are accurate and confidential.
Role Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with a strong foundation in administrative work and a passion for supporting a school community. A high school diploma is required, with an associate degree or higher preferred. The ideal candidate brings administrative or office experience-ideally in a school setting-along with excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail. Candidate should be proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and student information or finance systems such as Skyward (or the ability and willingness to learn new systems). Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who values exceptional customer service and enjoys building positive, welcoming relationships with staff, students, families, and community members.
