Salary range :
Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation includes AAMC salary benchmarks which can range from $154,700 - $405,900 The posted UC Salary Scales set the base pay determined by rank and / or step at appointment. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan , which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Position description
The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of California, Irvine -School of Medicine invites applications for the position of Medical Physicist. This appointment will be in all ranks in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series.
Successful candidates will establish and maintain a robust quality and safety program and facilitate resultant process improvements, driven by data. This position is responsible for teaching residents and students and promoting educational activities including the physics residency and dosimetry training programs. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in Medical Physics or related fields and have clinical experience in clinical Medical Physics. Successful candidates must be a leader in the field through demonstrated research, teaching, and innovation. This role reports directly to the Vice Chair of Medical Physics, and the Chair of Radiation Oncology.
Successful candidates must work collaboratively within and outside of the Department.

The incumbent will be expected to direct patient care; teach residents and medical students; participate in research and creative work; and perform public and University service.
Located across the various University of California, Irvine Chao Family Cancer Centers locations, the Department of Radiation Oncology is an integral part of the NCI-designated Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Department is equipped with a robust blend of technology, including dedicated HDR brachytherapy suites, adjacent and / or connected to the Hospital(s) and intraoperative units. The Department features a four-year Radiation Oncology residency training program and a two-year Medical Physics residency. The Department has an active Radiation Biology Division that currently ranks among the top programs in the nation concerning NIH funding. The Department participates in NRG / RTOG and SWOG and encourages investigator-initiated clinical and translational trials. The Division has undergone a transformative change with current and future site expansion in recent years.
