Job Description : Psychiatry Pod Lead
Provide psychiatric clinical leadership to a designated psychiatry pod (team), ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with SMI, SUD, and dementia.
Lead, mentor, and supervise a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals
Lead clinical team huddles to ensure the care team is working collaboratively toward improving the lives and clinical outcomes of patients
Provide clinical support to the BH team, who will be providing short-term psychotherapy, supporting caregivers, coordinating transitions of care, and connecting patients to community-based organizations and agencies
Provide regular supervision and support to the respective pod psychiatric nurse practitioners
Conduct regular case reviews, peer supervision sessions, and provide constructive feedback to ensure professional development and adherence to best practices.
Serve as a key liaison between the psychiatric pod and other departments, including primary care, chronic care management, and community services.
Collaborate with PCPs, as well as patients’ other providers, to coordinate treatment and help address co-occurring physical health conditions
Contribute to constructing the psychiatrist’s role within the company, including contributing to company culture and serving as an ambassador for the company’s mission.
Contribute to the development and implementation of BH clinical programming within the market, with an eye toward refining processes that allow the company to scale
Direct Psychiatric Care
Manage the psychiatric care of a panel of patients, including diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, medication management, and crisis intervention when needed.
Ensure continuity of care by monitoring patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary, and ensuring follow-up care is provided.
Use outcome measurement tools during the course of treatment to help patients and the treatment team track progress.
Implement and monitor clinical protocols and guidelines that enhance the quality of psychiatric care.
Support the recruitment process, interview candidates, and provide input in the hiring process, in addition to supporting clinicians' onboarding and ongoing training
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (few times per year)
Full-time, 40h / week (anticipate 30h / week direct virtual patient care)

Requirements
Qualifications :
A Medical Degree (MD or DO) and Board certification in Adult Psychiatry are required
Active medical licensures in the states of practice, Florida and Texas, and other states, as services are scaled nationally
Additional board certification in Geriatric Psychiatry, Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, and Addiction Psychiatry is preferred.
Experience :
Strong knowledge of psychiatric conditions, treatment modalities, and current best practices in the field.
Experience treating patients with serious mental illness (preferred : experience treating seniors) and comfort managing patients with complex medical and psychosocial needs.
Leadership experience in clinical psychiatry with proven experience leading, managing, or supervising multidisciplinary teams.
Telehealth experience
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience supervising psychiatric nurse practitioners
Experience supervising a multidisciplinary team of providers
Experience working in a collaborative care model and with care management teams is a plus
Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred
