The Ophthalmic Technician Trainer is responsible for the training, mentorship, and professional development of clinical staff. This role will implement training programs, evaluate competencies, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (HIPAA, MIPS). The position also provides support for clinical research coordination as assigned, working collaboratively with leadership to align technician performance with organizational goals.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Implement structured training programs for new and existing technicians, ensuring competency completion within 90 days.
• Deliver advanced training modules, including Tech T-levels and specialized diagnostic testing.
• Provide one-on-one coaching to support skill mastery and career progression.
• Track progress, maintain training records, and report outcomes to leadership.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA, MIPS, and internal clinic policies.
• Review technician documentation, safety protocols, and patient interactions.
• Monitor proper handling and disposal of medical information.
• Provide feedback and collaborate with leadership on process improvements.
• Support clinical trial management and research protocols as assigned.
• Coordinate scheduling, documentation, payments, and follow-up for study participants.
• Ensure compliance with study requirements, GCP standards, and sponsor documentation.
• Serve as liaison between providers, study teams, and participants.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, patient flow, and staff engagement.
• Recommend process changes to enhance efficiency and quality of care.
• Maintain flexibility to prioritize responsibilities and adapt to evolving clinic needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
