Job Title : Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing

Unit : Medical Surgical Stepdown / Cardiac Stepdown

Location : Orangeburg, SC 29118 (South Carolina nursing jobs)

Shift : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (6 : 45pm – 7 : 15am)

Hours per Week : 36

Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 21 / 2025 – End : 1 / 20 / 2026)

Patient Ratio : 1 : 4

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Float : May float to similar units as needed

Charting System : Epic EMR

Scrub Color : Royal Blue

Parking : Free on-site parking

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1470–$1570

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active South Carolina RN license or Compact RN license (required for South Carolina healthcare jobs)

Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Stepdown or Cardiac Telemetry RN experience (2 years preferred)

BLS and NIHSS certifications required

ACLS and CPI certifications preferred

Epic charting experience required

Telemetry competency and Cardiac Telemetry experience required

Previous charge nurse and community hospital experience preferred

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted)

First-time travel nurses accepted

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Cardiac Stepdown unit

Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage cardiac drips (no titration), and respond to dysrhythmias

Administer blood products, IV insulin protocols, and care for ventilated patients

Perform central and peripheral line management, wound care, and tracheostomy management

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services

Float to similar units as needed to meet facility requirements

Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR

Participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
