The position offers opportunities for growth, with a clear career ladder from Nursing Assistant to Patient Care Technician - Lead. A starting pay rate of $18.40 / hour for Nursing Assistants is offered, based on experience and qualifications.

Primary Responsibilities :

Assist with activities of daily living, basic patient care, point-of-care testing, vital signs, telemetry monitoring, specimen collection. The role may also involve advanced skills like phlebotomy, IV removal, and EKGs, depending on department needs.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must also have at least one of the below :
• One year of general healthcare experience
• 6 months of experience as UPMC Nursing Assistant / CNA with PCT competency achieved within 120 days of hire / transfer / promotion
• Enrollment in a nursing program with completion of at least 1 clinical rotation required
• Completion of a bachelor's degree in a health sciences field
• Nursing Students or those with EMT experience preferred
