Responsibilities

• Manage an individual caseload and lead other counselors.
• Participate in facility committees and carry out management‑related duties as directed by the Clinical Supervisor / Clinical Director.
• Assist with problem solving, conflict resolution, readiness for state and CARF visits.
• Ensure completion of patient databases, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries and other documentation in accordance with federal and state standards.
• Provide patient orientation on program objectives, phase requirements, rules, regulations, sanctions, hours of service, and patient rights.
• Assess and place patients according to treatment phases.
• Document and update clinical records per established policies.
• Counsel patients in crisis situations and those who refuse program requirements.
• Arrange referrals to community agencies when appropriate.
• Conduct treatment plan reviews and participate in case conferences and reviews.
• Review and sign off on counselor documentation as directed by the Clinical Supervisor or Clinic Director.
• Assist with overall direction and development of substance use services.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and grievance hearings.
• Lead weekly staff meetings with the counseling team.
• Maintain compliance with Federal, State and PTC requirements for counselor case files.
• Assist with annual performance reviews and state / CARF inspections.
• Provide in‑service training to clinical teammates.
• Monitor clinical records for quality and compliance; conduct mock inspections.
• Perform patient intakes and develop treatment plans.
• Offer training and technical assistance to community agencies.
• Guide counselors on managing difficult or complex patients.
• Oversee substance use counseling case assignments and discharges.
• Attend team meetings and complete required training courses.
• Attend ongoing training per program, federal and state requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
