Service Technician
Job Summary
This vital role involves providing on-site technical support, maintenance, and repair of Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems at various customer locations across North America. Your expertise will directly impact clients' operational efficiency by minimizing downtime and optimizing system performance.
Responsibilities
Travel extensively (60%-75%) to customer sites, often on short notice, to diagnose and resolve system issues.
Execute electromechanical tasks including wiring, calibration, hardware assembly, and troubleshooting to ensure system reliability.
Configure and update system software, ensuring all components operate correctly.
Maintain detailed service records and reports via the designated ticketing system, documenting diagnostics, repairs, and system adjustments.
Conduct fault diagnostics, hardware calibration, software testing, and performance analysis to identify operational deficiencies.
Interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and documentation to resolve complex system issues effectively.
Collect performance data, analyze system trends, and provide actionable insights for troubleshooting and improvements.
Educate and advise customer technical teams on system operation and maintenance best practices.
Represent the company professionally during customer interactions, ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction standards are upheld.
Contribute to process improvements, safety initiatives, and participate in special projects as assigned.
Requirements
Proven experience in service or maintenance engineering, with strong troubleshooting skills and customer interaction background.
Valid drivers license with the ability to travel extensively (60%-75%) within North America and internationally.
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Skilled in wiring, hardware assembly, and use of hand tools; soldering certification or experience is advantageous.
Familiarity with PLCs, controllers, sensors, and embedded devices, including software diagnostic tools.
Educational background of Associates or Bachelors Degree in relevant disciplines preferred.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under tight schedules.
Knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, and hardware support; Linux experience a plus.
Excellent communication, problem-solving mindset, and a customer-service orientation.
Ability to obtain a passport for travel, if necessary.
