American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Rochester, New York.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced MS / Tele RN with an active NY license and strong dysrhythmia management skills for night shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital MS / Tele unit with primarily cardiac and stroke patients
  • Typical patient ratios are 5 : 1 (days / evenings) and 6-7 : 1 (nights), may stretch higher if needed
  • Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00
  • Weekend work required every other weekend
  • Float required within scope to MS, ICU, and ED units
  • PCTs perform vital signs, blood glucose, EKGs, and ADLs
  • Nursing responsible for PICC / central lines; in-house team for peripheral lab draws
  • Uses Epic for charting (Epic experience preferred)
  • Hoyer lifts available for patient mobility
  • No on-call required
  • Responsibilities include dysrhythmia management, rapid response team use, and care for cardiac and stroke patients
  • No RTO approved for holidays, and time off requests must not exceed 7 days
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Scrub attire must be navy and white in any combination
  • Assignment may require use of hoyer lifts and portable oxygen devices

    • Requirements

  • Active NY RN license required at time of submission
  • Minimum of 1 year MS / Tele RN experience
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Demonstrated experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience using Epic EMR preferred
  • Must be comfortable with peripheral line care, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
  • Candidates must reside at least 75 miles away from the facility
