Position Summary :

The Diesel Mechanic III under direct supervision repairs and overhauls of heavy-duty truck and bus repair for gasoline and diesel engines.

The ideal candidate has experience working in a team environment and advanced diagnostic skills for electrical systems air brakes diesel and gas engines.

Physical Demands :

• Must be able to lift loads no greater than 75 lbs.
• Must be able to climb stairs ladders scaffolding and work around confined areas with piping and wiring obstructions as needed to access equipment.
• Requires moderate to heavy physical activity including bending stooping climbing balancing standing and walking up to 8 hours per day.

Requires exposure to high noise levels rotation and other potentially dangerous equipment.

Requires personal protective equipment such as hearing protection safety shoes and safety glasses.

Shop and outdoor field service environment.

Work Hours and Travel :

After hours work may be required or other work outside the regular schedule may be needed including weekends and holidays.

Available on a continuous on call basis for response to problems and emergencies that affect campus operations.

Salary : $29.23 minimum with hiring salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
