Job Summary :
The RN- MDS performs under the direct supervision of the Director and is delegated an assignment by the Director to achieve quality patient care. The RN- MDS shall implement the nursing process in an organized, systematic manner to include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation as evidenced by documentation in Patient Care Record, completion of Minimum Data Sets and care plans in a timely and accurate manner. RN- MDS is accountable to the Director for patient care, maintenance of schedules for completing the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) within allowed time limits in accordance with current Federal, State and Local regulations, and submission to payor sources within allotted timeframes. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his / her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. The RN-MDS Nurse shall perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing and / or Administrator.

Displays understanding of MDS assessment and care planning process.
Proactive, self-motivated approach to researching recent changes to the MDS assessment and documentation process.
Organized approach to scheduling MDS assessments and care plan meetings.
Displays leadership skills and oversees all charting as it relates to Resident ADL self -Performance.
Maintains organized approach to MDS files and record-keeping.
This position requires weekend on call duties in an on call rotation.
Qualifications : Education / Skills
Graduate of a recognized non-online RN program.
Work Experience :
One year medical / surgical nursing care required.
Certification / Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
Licensed LPN able to practice within the State of MS
Additional Certification / Licensure - Obtained based on required timeframe below
