Hartford Athletic stands at a transformative moment in our history. As we prepare for our 8th season, we're accelerating toward Division 1 status within the next two years, with a stadium expansion project on the horizon. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup coming to the United States, soccer enthusiasm nationwide will reach unprecedented levels, creating exceptional revenue opportunities.

We're also expanding our club's pathway by launching a pre-professional women's team in summer 2026, broadening our impact throughout the Connecticut community. This is truly a historic chapter for Hartford Athletic, and we're seeking a revenue leader who wants to join us during this pivotal growth period.

Role Summary

The Vice President of Sales & Revenue will drive revenue-generating activities for Hartford Athletic during this transformative phase of our club's evolution. Reporting to the COO, this hands-on leader will oversee both ticketing and partnerships sales teams, developing innovative strategies that fuel our ambitious Division 1 aspirations while strengthening our community impact.

This position offers exceptional growth potential for the right candidate, with a clear pathway to eventually grow into a Chief Revenue Officer role as both the individual and club develop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and directly manage ticketing and partnership sales teams, providing daily guidance, accountability, and mentorship
  • Develop and execute comprehensive revenue strategies across all streams, with particular focus on new business development
  • Create partnership opportunities that leverage both our current USL Championship position and our Division 1 aspirations
  • Build strategic marketing and sales initiatives to capitalize on the 2026 World Cup momentum
  • Implement effective CRM practices to identify sales opportunities and optimize customer acquisition
  • Coordinate closely with marketing to ensure alignment of brand messaging and sales goals
  • Structure performance metrics and reporting systems for the sales organization
  • Represent Hartford Athletic at business and community events throughout Connecticut
  • Support and contribute to our women's team launch strategy from a revenue perspective
  • Collaborate with club leadership on long-term revenue planning aligned with our Division 1 timeline

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, preferably in sports, entertainment, or related industries
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets, particularly in new business development
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing sales teams
  • Strong marketing sensibility and creative approach to developing new revenue streams
  • Experience with CRM systems and data-driven sales strategies
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated passion for soccer and community engagement
  • The Path to CRO

    This role is specifically designed for a talented sales leader with the ambition to grow into a Chief Revenue Officer position. As Hartford Athletic advances toward Division 1 status and expands with our women's team, the scope and responsibility of this position will naturally evolve. The right candidate will have the opportunity to :

  • Initially master the core revenue functions and team leadership
  • Gradually take on broader strategic responsibilities as the club expands
  • Develop the executive-level skills and perspective needed at the CRO level
  • Potentially grow into the CRO position as Hartford Athletic achieves Division 1 status
  • Be Part of Soccer History in Connecticut
