Hazen is seeking a Construction Inspector for water and sewer utilities projects located in Palm Beach County and Broward County. The employee in this position will work with owners, contractors, third-party firms, and Hazen engineers to support the construction and commissioning of Hazen projects.

Key Responsibilities :
Conduct on-site observation, monitoring, inspection, and evaluation of construction activitiesReview and interpret project demolition and work plans, specifications and drawings to verify contractor compliance therewithReview and monitor project schedule, sequence of activities, and time extension claimsAssist the multi-discipline engineering team in the resolution of request for information and claimsReview contractor performance and compliance with safety requirementsCoordinate and communicate effectively with multi-discipline teams, consultants, owners, contractors, and third-party inspection / testing firmsPrepare daily reports, verify material quantities, and review contractor pay applicationsMay supervise and train Field CoordinatorsAssist and coordinate with project start-up activitiesMaintain construction related documentationTravel to various project sites within Palm Beach County and Broward CountyAssist with construction administration tasks, including shop drawing processing and maintenance of documentation, change orders.Required Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years of relevant field construction experience, preferably in the water / wastewater / utility industryExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in computer software typically used (e.g., Microsoft Office, Procore, Primavera, etc.)Strong organizational and problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with construction methods typical of civil, structural, and mechanical engineering, and construction materials testingCapable of reviewing and implementing project design plans and technical specificationsMust be capable of performing assigned office and / or field tasks without daily supervisionPreferred Qualifications :
B.S. degree in a Civil / Environmental Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Building / Construction Science, or an Associate Degree in Engineering ScienceEngineer In Training (EIT) or Construction Manager In Training (CMIT - Construction Manager Certification Institute / CMCI) CertificationWhat We Offer :
