Job description

Empower Communication Across Generations in Coastal California - Embrace Your Career as a Speech Language Pathologist Overview Imagine a career where each interaction breathes life into purpose. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the picturesque city of Long Beach, California, you will be at the heart of transformative work that transcends mere therapy. Your expertise will not only address communication and swallowing disorders but also unlock potential, elevate confidence, and foster connections that span from children making their first sounds to seniors regaining their independence. This position provides you with the extraordinary privilege of aiding individuals across various age groups, seamlessly bridging outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient support. Whether your passion lies in nurturing the communication skills of toddlers or helping adults navigate the complexities of neurogenic disorders, you'll discover both fulfillment and flexibility within these walls. Description Conduct thorough evaluations for diverse patient populations, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients, utilizing a combination of standardized assessments and observational techniques. Create customized treatment plans that focus on short-term objectives while addressing overarching communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs. Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing skills. Collaborate effectively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop comprehensive care strategies. Provide education and support to patients and their families to enhance progress outside of the clinical environment. Participate in the occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions, ensuring a continuum of care throughout the patient's journey. Keep meticulous and timely documentation in accordance with all state, federal, and organizational requirements. Engage in ongoing education and collaboration with peers to stay updated with advancements in the field. Education A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a regionally accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist . Preferred : Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment. Skills Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for all age groups, with a solid understanding of developmental and acquired conditions in speech, language, and swallowing. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills for engaging with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Adept at adapting therapy methods to accommodate varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with electronic medical records and adherence to documentation protocols. Benefits Lucrative compensation that reflects experience. Flexible work schedules that prioritize your work-life harmony while offering a diverse caseload. Specialization opportunities in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics. Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday remuneration. Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options. Support for continuing education and opportunities for professional growth. A collaborative, team-driven atmosphere focused on high-quality patient care and ongoing learning. A Journey That Enriches Your Professional Life As part of this role, you will not only provide vital speech therapy but also engage in a community-focused mission that emphasizes restoring voices, enhancing communication, and creating moments of joy through simple yet profound human interactions. Join a team of clinicians who treat one another like family, in an environment that fosters collaboration instead of competition. Each patient brings a unique narrative; we trust you will play an essential part in how those stories unfold. Why You Will Adore Living and Working Here Life in Long Beach offers an exhilarating blend of coastal charm and urban vitality. With its stunning beaches, cultural diversity, and a vibrant art scene, this city sets the stage for a remarkable lifestyle and career. Picture yourself enjoying sunny days on the beach path, savoring international cuisine from food stalls, or taking part in incredible local festivals, where community spirit flourishes. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore scenic parks and hiking trails in the nearby San Gabriel Mountains, while arts aficionados can immerse themselves in galleries and exhibitions. Moreover, as a thriving city in a dynamic region, Long Beach boasts a robust healthcare community, alongside attractive financial benefits such as a reasonable cost of living and opportunities for professional advancement. Whether you are a fresh graduate or an experienced professional ready for new horizons, you will find ample opportunities for personal and professional growth in this welcoming environment. Who We Are Looking For We seek a Speech Language Pathologist motivated not just by tangible outcomes but by empathy and compassion. An individual who can see potential in those quiet voices waiting to be heard and feels the conviction to assist stroke survivors on their journey to articulate their thoughts. Your expertise may lie in pediatrics, seeking to branch into adult services, or in neuro rehabilitation, ready to welcome early intervention into your practice. No matter your focus, if you are ready to serve with kindness and lead with professionalism, we are eager to welcome you into our community. Let's Shape Meaningful Communication Together If you believe speech is not just about sounds but about building connections, and therapy is about more than tasks but about trust and understanding, then you might be poised to step into a rewarding new chapter in your career journey. Join us in a thriving community that champions consistency in communication, connection, and the courage to rededicate oneself. Apply today to lend your voice to our team, helping others find the strength in their own.
